Impromptu Promptlings

Have been over to Denzil Walton’s blog Life Sentences reading his Sunday Supplement post. He reblogged a post about discovering angels in your life. It resonated with me because I’ve had exactly the kind of experience he described in his first paragraph. He said,

All of us probably have stories where a complete stranger seemed to appear at just the right time to prevent an accident, help us make the right decision, find something that was lost etc. etc.

    You’re welcome, calensariel! Beautifully said. And it’s a good reminder that sometimes — often times — humans act on behalf of angels. And we’re only hurting ourselves if we make a cursory judgement and reject their help.

    One day, I was walking to the subway. The sidewalk was a sheet of ice and I was terrified of falling. I was shuffling along very slowly and I prayed for an angel to help me. Suddenly, a very large black man appeared next to me and said, “You look like you could use some help.” He offered me his arm and patiently helped me to the subway. I told him that I had been praying for an angel and he just smiled.
