My dear friend Barry Fahrer took this stunning shot at the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya.

Bodh Gaya is home to a direct descendant of the Bodhi Tree under which Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment.
Barry Fahrer is an excellent photographer and I look forward to sharing more of his photos of India, Nepal and Bhutan with you in the near future.
How very cool! It’s amazing the things I learn from you. Perhaps this could be the tree of life?

Thank you, Karen! No, the tree of life is a broader archetype: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_of_life.

Hi Judie Bodh Gaya is in Bihar India. This the the famous Buddha in the tree roots in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand. I have been there and have a similar shot. It is very inspiring.

Thank you, quantumpreceptor! The photo with the tree roots isn’t Barry Fahrer’s. I am going to take it down. I appreciate you pointing this out. I would very much like to see both places.
